to be honest, to attain 6 packs you just need to have below 10% bodyfat. But having 6 packs doesn't mean you have a strong core. A strong core helps you deliver force to produce efficient movement.
on days i don't go to gym, these are some of my fave core exercise to do on active rest days. (2 sets, 12-16reps, 30-60 seconds rest in between circuits)
Dynamic Streching
1) Inchworm
2) Side Lunge
3) Crab Stretch
Core Exercise
1) Single Leg Glute Bridge
2) Plank Shoulder Tap
3) Rotating Side Planks
1) Ab Crunch
2) T-Twist
3) Dive Bomb Push Up
